James B. Mathews, 78, of Lincoln formerly of Decatur passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He loved to golf, bowl, fish and played the trumpet in a band called the DelMar Band. James was a co-owner of Folraths Shoe Store and later worked at Raupps Shoe Store. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge 401 in Decatur, the Moose Lodge 684 and member of American Legion Lincoln, IL.

He leaves behind his companion Wanda Zurkamer of Lincoln, daughters Pam (Danny) Greenway of TN, Beth (Steve) McDonald of LA, Kay (Rick) Caballero of TX; son Mike Mathews of TX; step daughters Jean (Joe) Doss of Decatur, Lisa (Chuck) Humphreys of CA; 9 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents

Per James wishes cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. No services are planned at this time.

Memorials may be directed St. Johns Hospice & American Cancer Society.
