Mildred (Billie) Henry of Decatur

DECATUR - Mildred (Billie) Henry, 102, of Decatur died October 6 in Cincinnati, Ohio, after a short illness. She was born March 9, 1909 in Barclay, daughter of George Thomas and Susan Gertrude (Yocom) Hickman. Billie graduated from Williamsville High School in 1927 and attended Brown Business College in Springfield. She was married toe J. Harold (Dutch) Henry in 1930 and moved to Decatur. They had two daughters, Nancy (Pat) Boylson and Sally (Ed) Kuny. Billie was above all a homemaker, wife, and mother. She was active in PTA and Girl Scouts while her daughters were growing up. She was a caring, loving grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend to many young and old. She had a special love for children and animals. Billie spent many hours in volunteer work in the community and in her church, First United Methodist where she was a member for over 78 years. She especially enjoyed her church circle and her Tri Psi membership. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, four sisters, and grandson Greg Boylson. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, 42 great grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews, several cousins, and special neighbors. Funeral services will be held at Thursday, October 13 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.
