Brenda Deerwester of Heyworth

Brenda “LaDon” Deerwester, 64, Heyworth, passed away at 4:35 p.m.  Thursday (July 4, 2013) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

A celebration of life gathering will be from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Times Past Inn, Bloomington. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with cremation rites.

Brenda was born April 1, 1949, in Rogersville, Tenn., the daughter of John McCoy and Geneva P. Jones Sizemore.

She married Sammie “Pudge” Bartlett of Bloomington and later married Carl Deerwester on Sept. 2, 1994, in Heyworth.

Survivors are her husband, Carl Deerwester, Heyworth; her son, David (Michelle) Bartlett, Mansfield, Texas; grandson, Jaxon Grae Bartlett, Mansfield, Texas; stepdaughter, Laurie Scott, Lane; sister-in-law, Keven Sizemore, Georgia; and her best friends, Jean Gordon, Bloomington, and Bob Madden, Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Angela Denise Bartlett; brother, John Sizemore; and her sister, Sue Mae Riddle.

Brenda graduated from Bloomington High School, and she worked for General Electric, retiring after 36 years.

She loved being outside tending her garden and spending time with her dogs and cat.

Brenda dearly loved her son, grandson and husband and will be deeply missed by all of them.
