Lonnie Paul Smith, 89 of Monticello, IL passed away 1:28 P.M. October 28, 2013 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

Private graveside services will be Monday, November 4, 2013 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL with Military Honors. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater IL Chapter, in honor of his son: Russell, 8430 W. Mr. Smith was born March 26, 1924 in Lintner, IL the son of Paul Benedict Smith and Letha Susan Marker. He was a World War II Army veteran. He married Imogene Martin, June 2, 1946 in Monticello, IL.

Survivors include his wife Imogene Smith, Monticello, IL; children: Connie (Richard) Blazier, Urbana, IL, Michael Smith, Sullivan, IL, Martha Vigneri, Decatur, IL and Russell (Barb) Smith, Monticello, IL; 5 grandchildren: Todd (Jen) Smith, Humboldt, IL, Kristin (Chris) Greer, Ivesdale, IL, Craig Wilson, Decatur, IL, Emily Vigneri, Normal, IL and Tim Smith, Sullivan, IL; 4 great-great grandchildren: Ashlyn, Raygen, Will and Macie. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.

Lonnie was a member of the DeLand United Methodist Church and the Monticello Masonic Lodge AF & AM. He was a farmer his entire life and enjoyed roller skating, water skiing, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family.
