Lowell Douglas (Jack) Thomas of Cerro Gordo

Lowell Douglas (Jack) Thomas, 77, of Maxville, FL formerly of Cerro Gordo, passed away on Friday April 13, 2012. He was born in Cerro Gordo, IL and has lived in Maxville most of his life. He was a veteran and retired from the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Navy Fleet Reserve # 126. He was the son of the late Ernest and Kathryn Benson Thomas. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Martha Harris Thomas; sons, Dennis Thomas (Pam) and Dean Thomas (Tonya) all of Maxville; sisters, Juanita Peterson of Mount Zion, IL, Beverly Walsh (Tom) of Cerro Gordo, IL, Donna Ousley (Roy) of Forsyth, IL, and Diana Brown (Fred) of Springfield, IL; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He loved his family very much and had a heart of gold. He will be missed by all of his family and some very special friends. Funeral services with full military honors, was held at the graveside in Long Branch Cemetery, Maxville, FL on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 11am, with Rev Freddie Griffis officiating.
