Alan L. Craig of Waynesville

Alan L. Craig, 61, Waynesville, passed away at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday (March 28, 2012) at his home.

The funeral for Mr. Craig will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta, with the Rev. Andrew Maxwell officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville, at a later date. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice at 211 N. Landmark, Suite D, Normal, 61761; the American Cancer Society; or an organization of the donor’s choice.

Surviving Mr. Craig are his wife of 42 years, Marjorie Mardelle; daughter Michel (Tim) Emrick, Mount Pulaski; and son, Russel (Jennifer) Craig, Lincoln; three grandchildren, Zachary and Julianna Craig and Andrew Emrick; one sister, Carol (Steve) LaDew, Waynesville; and three brothers, Wayne (Judy) Craig, California; Kenny Craig, McLean; and Russel (Roseanne) Craig, Waynesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Craig was born Dec. 13, 1950, in Lincoln, the son of Fred A. and Hazel I. Pleines Craig. He married Marjorie Mardelle Woosley on Jan. 2, 1970. She survives.

Alan was a member of Waynesville Methodist Church. He worked for 42 years for Ralston Purina and then Cargill. He was a member of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union local in Bloomington and the National Rifle Association. Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta.
