Lillian Ester of Farmer City

Lillian Ester, 86, Springfield, formerly of Farmer City, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday (March 27, 2012) at Heritage Health Care, Springfield. 

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Heyworth Christian Church.

Lillian was born May 9, 1925, daughter of John and Eva Simpson Milton in Farmer City. She married Vernon Harris in 1943. She later married Virgil Ester in 1952. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Virgil Ester.

She is survived by one daughter, Diana (David) Whitson, West Melbourne, Fla.; one son, Allen (Barbara) Harris, Wilmington; stepson, Ron (Marti) Ester, Broken Arrow, Okla.; two grandchildren, Deb Whitson and Dan (Sondra) Whitson; numerous stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Keith, Kenneth and Gerald Milton, all of Heyworth; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Paige Whitson.

Lillian was a florist for many years in Cissna Park and eventually retired from management in Stanley Home Products. She enjoyed camping, fishing and driving in the powder puff stock car races. Later in life, she enjoyed crafting, volunteering, traveling and visiting friends and family. 

Lillian will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
