Ronald D. Brinkman of Farmer City

Ronald D. Brinkman, 68 of Farmer City, IL passed away 1:45 P.M. March 20, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow in Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, IL with Military Honors at the gravesite. Visitation will be 10 – 11 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #55, Farmer City, IL. Ronald was born July 26, 1943 in Clinton, IL the son of William Henry and Florence Eileen (Westerman) Brinkman. Survivors include Son: Shane A. (Joanne) Brinkman, Sullivan, IL and their children Ethan and Logan; Daughter: Ami E. (Fiancé: Rex Wiley) Brinkman, Decatur, IL; Step Father: Ralph D. Johnson, Clinton, IL; Special Friend: Vicki Tharp, Bloomington, IL; Sisters: Sandra (Keith) Rich, Clinton, IL, Betty (Loren) Anderson, Farmer City, IL, and Patricia (Phillip) Lisenby, Decatur, IL. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Brother, 1 Uncle and 2 Aunts. Ronald worked for Howard and Stanley Poff for 30 years working on the Farm. He especially enjoyed planting and harvest season and later he retired from Roberson Transportation, Mahomet, IL after 12 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1967 and was a member of the American Legion Post #55, Farmer City, IL. and the First Christian Church, Clinton, IL. Ronald enjoyed lawn work, NASCAR, gardening, farming God's Earth and spending time with his grandchildren. He was very proud of his children.
