Jean Elaine Huston of Monticello

Jean Elaine Huston, 93, of Monticello, died at 2:20 a.m. Sunday (October 27, 2013) at Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Monticello Township Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Stump officiating. Mrs. Huston She was born May 21, 1920, at Springfield, to William Allan and Iona Clare Foster Brittin. She first married John Raymond Heitz, who preceded her in death on March 21, 1973. She later married William Henry Huston, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1988. Survivors include a nephew Allan (Valerie) Brittin of Carpentersville, great-nieces Sarah (Cameron Brunner) Brittin and Bailey (Anthony) Budka, great-nephew John Hardaker and numerous cousins. Mrs. Huston was also a “surrogate aunt” to the children of her best friend Marian Young, all of whom knew her as Aunt Jean. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother William Brittin, and a niece Barbara Hardaker. Mrs. Huston was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, AARP, Kirby Hospital Auxiliary and the Piatt County Museum. She was a member of the Monticello High School class of 1938 and worked at the National Bank of Monticello for 35 years, retiring in 1983, and enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing and working jigsaw puzzles. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Piatt County Animal Shelter, Cravens Spay/Neuter Fund, Piatt County Nursing Home or an organization of the donor’s choice.
