Sue A. Richards of Farmer City

Sue A. Richards, 68, of Farmer City passed away at 9 a.m. Friday (June 1, 2012) at the Farmer City Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Farmer City. The Rev. Nadine Preston will officiate.  There will be no visitation. Cremation rites are accorded. Kirby Funeral Home, 708 S. Main St., Homer, is in charge of arrangements.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the activities department of the Farmer City Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Richards was born on April 26, 1944, in Worth. She was the daughter of Everett Wayne and Clara Belle Wallis Richards.

Survivors include three children, Sarah (Larry) O’Neal, Farmer City; Jennifer (Jeff) Soucek, Bloomington; and Leonard Kirby, Farmer City; and four grandchildren, Jade, Jacquelyn and Clint O’Neal and Madison Kirby.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Richards.

She was the former activities director at the nursing home in Farmer City. She had a strong faith and attended for many years the Farmer City United Methodist Church and Trinity Church in Farmer City. Sue was an avid reader, and loved sewing, quilting and scrapbooking.
