Mary M. Byrd of Farmer City

Mary M. Byrd, 79, Farmer City, formerly of LeRoy, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 25, 2013) at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, with the Rev. Dave Ashby officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bible Tracts Inc., Bloomington, or American Diabetes Association.

Mary was born July 10, 1934, in South Irvine, Ky., a daughter of William and Doris Hazel Lowe. She married Donald Byrd.

She is survived by two sons, Brett E. Byrd, Urbana, and Bryan K. (Debbie) Byrd, LeRoy; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; brother, William (Marilyn) Lowe, LeRoy; and sister, Betty J. Underhill, LeRoy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary had been a secretary and bookkeeper for Twin City Sign and Decal and a nurse’s aide at Jackson Heights Nursing Home, both in Farmer City.
