Thelma D. Carter of Clinton

Thelma D. Carter, 63, of Clinton,died 8:55 p.m. Friday (Aug. 9, 2013) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. Richard Gray and the Rev. Spencer McPheron officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

She was born Oct. 4, 1949, in Clinton, a daughter of Raymond O. Carter and Bernice F. (Nelson) Carter.

She is survived by her children, Darla (David) Huston, Clinton; Sherrie Strange, Madisonville, Ky.; Tony (Brandi) Carter, Clinton; grandchildren, Brandi Crispen, Jeremy Huston, Cody Carter, Bowe Carter, Miranda Strange; sisters, Sharon McGhee, Donna Carter and Vivian (Russell) Crutcher, all of Clinton; brothers, Roger (Pat) Carter, Joliet, and Russell (Bernadine) Carter, Springfield; four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Francis Wickenhauser; one brother-in-law; one son-in-law; and one niece.

She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle, Heyworth. She worked many years at the Eureka-Williams Co., Bloomington.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
