Bonnie Sprague of Waynesville

Bonnie L. Sprague, 84, Waynesville, died at 12:37 p.m. Sunday (July 28, 2013) at her family residence in Waynesville.

Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Jack Sprague officiating. Interment will be at McClimans Cemetery, Hallsville. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

She was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Magnolia, daughter of William Henry and Clara Hefner Scott. She married Paul Eugene “Gene” Sprague on Jan. 17, 1948, in Paragould, Ark. He passed away April 21, 1988.

She is survived by her children, Coralee (Tad) Mrazek, Dunlap; Chris (Jim) Tusek, Normal; Jeff Sprague, Pottsboro, Texas; John (Denise) Sprague, Kenney; and Jay (Lisa) Sprague and Cathy (Shawn) Newberry, both of Clinton; brothers, William (Jeanette) Scott, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Marion (Joann) Scott, Delavan; sisters, Betty Weyhrich, Green Valley, and Virginia North, Mount Shasta, Calif.; sister-in-law, Rita Scott, Tomball, Texas; 25 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Walter Scott.

She was affiliated with Green Valley United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Bunko Club, DeWitt County Farm Bureau and the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed bowling. She volunteered for many organizations. For one year, she taught first to eighth grades in a one-room schoolhouse.
