Bill Stephens

Bill C. Stephens, 74, of Farmer City, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 3, 2016) at his home, surrounded by family.

 

His service will be at noon Saturday at Weldon Baptist Church, Weldon, with the Rev. Clive Shreve officiating and Jim Vance co-officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded, with burial at Greenleaf Cemetery, Farmer City, at a later date.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.

 

Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Bill was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Lebanon, Ind., to Levon and Virginia Cripe Stephens. He married Barbara J. Brewer on June 30, 1961. She survives in Farmer City.

 

Also surviving are his son, William Stephens, Decatur; two daughters, Sandy (Tom) Corcoran, Pontiac, and Kathy White, Farmer City; two brothers, Jim (Joellen) Stephens, Thorntown, Ind., and John Stephens, Lebanon, Ind.; one sister, Carolyn (Dan) Hedrick, Crawfordsville, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Bill retired from Deluxe Check Printers in June 1993 after 31 years. He was an active member of Weldon Baptist Church, Weldon. Bill spent most of his retired life woodworking and gardening. He always enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and attending their activities. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.

 

Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.
